    Re: youth league football

Wise vs Appy. Wise Crunch Bunch won, Appy Division I & II won.
Pound vs Coeburn. Pound CB won, Coeburn D I & II won.
Norton vs Clintwood. Norton CB & D I won, Clintwood D II won.

There were some exciting plays and big hits in the three Wise/Appy games. Everyone played fair and were good sports. Games for next week are:
    Coeburn @ Wise
    Norton @ Appy
    Clintwood @ Pound
It costs a dollar at the gate. That goes to pay the college kids that come out and ref the games. This is football in it's purest form.

i agree it was hot! why not start those games later? everybody has lights. they let school out early because of heat then they play football during the hottest part of the day. what sense does that make?

Didn't Wise cancel one practice in the evenings due to heat?

    Re: youth league football

Yes we did. I cancelled practice on a Thursday, the first week of full pads when we had the 90ish temps. I felt like it would be better and safer for the kids (many parent agreed).
It would benefit starting later. But the high temps are supposed to break next week. Thursdays high is 78 as of Friday. Non the less, my kids were pumped up during the game and drained after it. See you all at the game.

I know Indian_Dad would like to see that - so he could watch his kid's games. As it is he has to go into work before his oldest's games start.
